President Biden Signs Historic Infrastructure Bill, AED’s McGuire Attends White House Ceremony

Earlier today, President Joe Biden signed into law the Infrastructure Investment & Jobs Act (IIJA), the bipartisan legislation that invests more than $1 trillion in road, bridge, airport, water, port, power, rail, transit and broadband infrastructure projects. AED’s President & CEO Brian P. McGuire represented the association at the White House signing ceremony along with other key stakeholders and public officials.

“AED commends President Biden and the bipartisan group of lawmakers that put country above politics and supported the Infrastructure Investment & Jobs Act,” said McGuire from the South Lawn of the White House. “These historic investments to upgrade America’s crumbling infrastructure are critical to the country’s economy, international competitiveness and national security. Today is a significant victory for the equipment industry and AED members should be proud of the critical role they played in getting the bipartisan infrastructure bill across the finish line.”

The long road to today was a direct result of the hard work of AED and its members. Over the years, AED hosted hundreds of congressional facility visits and meetings, conducted Driving for Dealers RV tours to highlight the nation’s dilapidated transportation network and facilitated a grassroots letter writing campaign that resulted in thousands of letters being sent to U.S. senators urging them to make infrastructure a top priority. Additionally, hundreds of AED members participated in recent Washington Fly-In’s, resulting in countless meetings on Capitol Hill to deliver the industry’s message.

Thank you to all that participated and supported AED’s efforts, and get ready to provide the equipment necessary to rebuild the country.
